PROJECT DESCRIPTION: AQUALIFE THE YANGTZE RIVER AND GREEN POWER

 

The Baiji dolphin also known as the Goddess of the Yangtze River has been declared extinct. Due to traffic, pollution and the dams they werent able to survive.

This project has 2 main outcomes: to develop the second volume of Aqualife: The Yangtze River program and together with our Partner AIESEC facilitate in 150 schools student teams to make a proposal to make their school greener.

Deliverables:

  • Aqualife: Yangtze River, volume 2 of the Aqualife series
  • Reach out to 150 schools in 4 cities along the Yangtze river to set up a green team and make a proposal to make their school greener
  • Upload proposals to the website and find donors to adopt a school, so the project can be implemented
  • Stimulate in 4 cities that local action is taken and organize a beach cleanup

End ceremony of the project will take place second week of July 2010 in the Rotterdam Pavilion on the worldexpo in Shanghai. To learn more about the Aqualife program, please visit the website Aqualife
